The workforce of Domestic Workers during second quarter of 2024 was 1.98M people, whose salary averaged $4.19k MX working around 29 hours per week.

The average age of Domestic Workers was 44.4 years. The workforce was distributed in 3.11% men with an average salary of $4.69k MX and, 96.9% women with average salary of $4.17k MX.

The best average salaries received by Domestic Workers were in Baja California Sur ($7.77k MX), Nuevo León ($6.1k MX), and Sinaloa ($5.53k MX) while the workforce was larger in Estado de México (316k), Ciudad de México (169k), and Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave (152k).

97% of the total informal workers correspond to women with an average salary of $4.12k MX and 3.04% to men with an average salary of $4.58k MX.

At the level of states, Chiapas had the highest percentage of informal workers with 100% corresponding to 72.9k from 72.9k workers, while the state with the lowest percentage of informal workers was Baja California Sur with a 86.6% corresponding to 14.1k from 16.3k workers.

The states with the highest number of Domestic Workers during the second quarter of 2024 were Estado de México (316k), Ciudad de México (169k), and Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave (152k)

Comparing the first quarter of 2021 and the second quarter of 2024, the main positive variations occurred in Puebla and Sinaloa with an increase of 14.3k (13.1%) and 4.38k (11%), respectively. On the other hand, the negative variations were accentuated in Jalisco and Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave with a decrease of 14.4k (11.1%) and 9.63k (5.95%), respectively.

The states with the best average salaries for Domestic Workers during second quarter of 2024 were Baja California Sur ($7.77k MX), Nuevo León ($6.1k MX), and Sinaloa ($5.53k MX)

Comparing the first quarter of 2021 and the second quarter of 2024, the positive salary growth was higher in Zacatecas and Baja California Sur with an increase of $1.02k MX (36.5%) and $864 MX (12.5%), respectively. Por otro lado, las variaciones salariales negativas se acentuaron en Ciudad de México and Sonora with a decrease of $576 MX (14.4%) and $553 MX (10.5%), respectively.

At second quarter of 2024, the states with the highest rate of labor informality in Domestic Workers were Chiapas (100%), Tlaxcala (99.8%), and Michoacán de Ocampo (99.6%).

The states with the lowest informality rate were Sonora (91.9%), Nuevo León (91%), and Baja California Sur (86.6%).

The workforce of Domestic Workers during the second quarter of 2024 was higher in the age group with 45 to 54 years concentrating 542k workers of which 3.82% corresponds to formal employment (20.7k) and 96.2% to informal employment (522k).

Regarding the schooling years, the workforce was higher in the range with 7 to 9 years of schooling concentrating 820k workers of which 3.55%  corresponds to formal employment (29.1k) and 96.4% corresponds to informal employment (791k).
