The workforce of Professionals and Technicians during second quarter of 2024 was 10.1M people, whose salary averaged $7.92k MX working around 37 hours per week.

The average age of Professionals and Technicians was 39.8 years. The workforce was distributed in 58.6% men with an average salary of $8.47k MX and, 41.4% women with average salary of $7.15k MX.

The best average salaries received by Professionals and Technicians were in Baja California Sur ($12.9k MX), Campeche ($12.2k MX), and Coahuila de Zaragoza ($11.9k MX) while the workforce was larger in Estado de México (1.52M), Ciudad de México (1.26M), and Jalisco (724k).

In terms of industries, the best average salaries were in Food Catering Services ($75.1k MX), Retail Trade of Textile Products, except Apparel ($27.8k MX), and Travel Agencies and Reservation Services ($21k MX), while the workforce was concentrated on Higher Technical Education Schools (2.76M), Legal Services (2.55M), and Repair and Maintenance of Automobiles and Trucks (1.1M).

34.5% of the total informal workers correspond to women with an average salary of $4.78k MX and 65.5% to men with an average salary of $6.34k MX.

At the level of states, Tlaxcala had the highest percentage of informal workers with 40.9% corresponding to 33.6k from 82.1k workers, while the state with the lowest percentage of informal workers was Nuevo León with a 19.5% corresponding to 122k from 628k workers.

The states with the highest number of Professionals and Technicians during the second quarter of 2024 were Estado de México (1.52M), Ciudad de México (1.26M), and Jalisco (724k)

Comparing the first quarter of 2021 and the second quarter of 2024, the main positive variations occurred in Estado de México and Nuevo León with an increase of 84.4k (5.9%) and 26.8k (4.46%), respectively. On the other hand, the negative variations were accentuated in Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave and Ciudad de México with a decrease of 28.3k (6.07%) and 16.3k (1.28%), respectively.

Regarding the schooling years, the workforce was higher in the range with 16 to 18 years of schooling concentrating 6.02M workers of which 82.3%  corresponds to formal employment (4.96M) and 17.7% corresponds to informal employment (1.07M).
