In the second quarter of 2024 the gross domestic product was $208B MX, 4.69% more than the previous quarter.

According DENUE 2024, Management of Companies and Enterprises registered 666 economic units. The states with the highest number of economic units were Ciudad de México (221), Nuevo León (98), and Jalisco (35).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, total gross production was $497B MX. The states with the highest total gross production were Ciudad de México ($428B MX) and Nuevo León ($50.6B MX).

For its part, total income reached $906B MX in 2019, being the states with the highest income Ciudad de México ($801B MX) and Nuevo León ($76.3B MX).

Economic activities are related if they require similar knowledge or inputs. In 2014 in Management of Companies and Enterprises the states with the highest affinity were Sonora (0.81), Chihuahua (0.79), Nuevo León (0.75), Querétaro (0.72), and Coahuila de Zaragoza (0.72).

In the second quarter of 2024, Management of Companies and Enterprises recorded a gross domestic product of $208B MX, evidencing an increase of 4.69% compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 1.51% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Production Indicators by State

According to data from the Economic Census 2019,  366 economic units were totaled in Management of Companies and Enterprises, highlighting Ciudad de México (160), Nuevo León (72), and Jalisco (21).

Total gross production was $497B MX. The states with the highest total gross production were Ciudad de México ($428B MX) and Nuevo León ($50.6B MX).

Total income reached $906B MX in 2019, being the states with the highest income Ciudad de México ($801B MX) and Nuevo León ($76.3B MX).

Production Indicators by Municipality

According to dato from Economic Census 2014, Management of Companies and Enterprises had a total of 801 economic units and the municipalities with the highest number of economic units were Miguel Hidalgo (144), Monterrey (102), and San Pedro Garza García (99)

Total income eached $1.08T MX and the municipalities with the highest income were Miguel Hidalgo ($310B MX), San Pedro Garza García ($204B MX), and Cuajimalpa de Morelos ($157B MX).

Total expenditures were $388B MX and the municipalities with the highest expenditures were San Pedro Garza García ($101B MX), Miguel Hidalgo ($81.4B MX), and Monterrey ($79.4B MX).

On the other hand, in 2014 there were 60426 employees dependent on economic units and the municipalities with the highest number of employees were Miguel Hidalgo (42k), Morelia (3.01k), and Monterrey (2.67k).

Economic Units

The visualization shows the number of economic units in Management of Companies and Enterprises according to the number of employees.

According to DENUE data published in May 2024, 467 companies with 0 to 10 employees were registered (24 companies more than the previous period). In the same period, 93 companies with 11 to 50 employees were registered (11 companies less than the previous period).

40 companies with 51 to 100 employees were registered in 2024 (11 companies more than the previous period). Likewise, 66 companies with more than 101 employees were registered (14 companies more than the previous period).

Access to Financing

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the distribution of economic units according to size that had access to financing was 27.1% units with up to 10 people, 44.4% units with 11 to 50 people, 35.6% units with 51 to 250 people, and 46.2% units with 251 and more people.

According to the age of the economic units, the distribution of those that obtained financing was 14.3% of the recently created (up to 2 years) units, 25.9% of the youth (3 to 5 years) units, 26.3% of the adults (6 to 10 years) units, and 37.4% of the seniors (over 10 years) units.

The states with the highest percentage of economic units that received financing were Baja California (100%), Tlaxcala (100%), Sonora (75%), San Luis Potosí (66.7%), and Chihuahua (54.5%).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the states with the highest percentage of economic units that had internet services were Aguascalientes (100%), Baja California (100%), Nayarit (100%), Oaxaca (100%), and Quintana Roo (100%).

Availability of Internet Service and Computing

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the Management of Companies and Enterprises subsector had 67.2% of economic units that had internet services and 68.9% of economic units that had computer services. The disaggregation by size or age of the units can be analyzed in the visualization.

Internet Use in Companies

According to the size of the company, the economic units of 251 and more people that use the internet in search information for goods or services (100%) stand out in percentage terms.

The visualization shows the distribution of purchases and sales over the Internet and the distribution of monetary transactions according to the medium used in the transaction and the size of the companies.

According to data from the 2019 Economic Census, internet sales reached $4.37B MX and purchases were $8.5B MX. On the other hand, sales made in monetary transactions were $459B MX and purchases reached $97.2B MX.

Problems faced by economic units

The chart shows the main problems faced by economic units. With the upper selector it is possible to analyze the problems affecting companies according to their size. By default, the problems of economic units with up to 10 people are shown.

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the main problems faced by the economic units of Management of Companies and Enterprises with up to 10 workers are another problems (30.4%), public insecurity (19.4%), high taxes (19.1%), and excess government procedures to operate (7.07%).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the distribution of economic units that had an accounting system  was 98.2% units with up to 10 people, 98.4% units with 11 to 50 people, 100% units with 51 to 250 people, and 96.2% units with 251 and more people.

The states with the highest percentage of economic units that had an accounting system were Aguascalientes (100%), Baja California (100%), Coahuila de Zaragoza (100%), Colima (100%), and Chiapas (100%).

Expenditure and Income Control Mechanisms

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the main expenses and income control mechanisms were internally developed accounting system (70.1%) in companies with up to 10 people, internally developed accounting system (77.4%) in companies with 11 to 50 people, internally developed accounting system (79.7%) in companies with 51 to 250 people, and internally developed accounting system (84%) in companies with 251 and more people.

Monetary Transactions

The visualization shows the percentage distribution of the economic units in the Management of Companies and Enterprises subsector according to the amount of income from the supply of goods and services.

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the states with the highest income from the supply of goods and services were list Ciudad de México ($395B MX),Nuevo León ($44.8B MX),Jalisco ($3.43B MX),Sinaloa ($2.85B MX),Estado de México ($2.68B MX).

With the upper selector it is possible to see the distribution of expenses for consumption of goods and services, in addition to the amounts of purchases or sales over the internet.

The visualizations shows the percentage distribution of the large economic units of the private and parastatal sector of Management of Companies and Enterprises with innovation activities in at least one year between 2016 and 2018.

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the states with the highest percentage of large economic units with innovation activities in 2016, 2017 or 2018 were Baja California (100%), Sonora (25%), Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave (25%), Guanajuato (20%), and Chihuahua (18.2%).

Innovation Activities in 2018

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, 10.1% of the large economic units of the private and parastatal sector of Management of Companies and Enterprises had innovation activities in 2018.

Of the total staff employed in large economic units, 0.27% was employed in product innovation activities, 0.087% in process innovation, 0.041% in market innovation, 0.16% in organizational innovation, and 0.19% in innovation for technological adaptation and documentation.

Qualified staff in Innovation Activities

The visualization shows the distribution of large economic units of the private and parastatal sector of Management of Companies and Enterprises that employed qualified staff in technological research and development activities in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the lowercase Management of Companies and Enterprises Subsector had 41 economic units that had qualified staff in technological research and development activities, 1 economic units had it for research and technological development in the field of Biotechnology and 2 economic units for research and technological development in Nanotechnology.

In the same year, 12 economic units had qualified personnel in the registration or processing of patents for brands, products or processes, and 5 economic units had this type of staff to contracts or acquisition of patents for brands, products or processes.
