In the period January to June 2024, the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from China to Mexico is US$235M. In the same period, the states that received the highest FDI from China were Coahuila de Zaragoza (Confidential), Chihuahua (Confidential), and San Luis Potosí (Confidential).
Regarding remittances, in the second quarter of 2024, Mexico received US$361k in remittances from China, while China received US$1.55M in remittances from Mexico.
Finally, in terms of immigration to Mexico, 2,282 inmigrants from China were registered in 2020, 40.1% women and 59.9% men. The states with the highest concentration of inmigrants from China were Ciudad de México (782 people), Coahuila de Zaragoza (365 people), and Estado de México (268 people).
