In the second quarter of 2024 the gross domestic product was $1.4T MX, 3.89% more than the previous quarter.

According DENUE 2024, Credit Intermediation and Related Activities registered 89,486 economic units. The states with the highest number of economic units were Ciudad de México (10,289), Estado de México (8,288), and Nuevo León (6,827).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, total gross production was $968B MX. The states with the highest total gross production were Ciudad de México ($723B MX) and Nuevo León ($122B MX).

For its part, total income reached $1.81T MX in 2019, being the states with the highest income Ciudad de México ($1.44T MX) and Nuevo León ($224B MX).

Economic activities are related if they require similar knowledge or inputs. In 2014 in Credit Intermediation and Related Activities the states with the highest affinity were Sonora (0.83), Chihuahua (0.79), Nuevo León (0.75), Coahuila de Zaragoza (0.73), and Baja California (0.72).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019,  18,763 economic units were totaled in Credit Intermediation and Related Activities, highlighting Estado de México (1,403), Jalisco (1,388), and Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave (1,218).

Total gross production was $968B MX. The states with the highest total gross production were Ciudad de México ($723B MX) and Nuevo León ($122B MX).

According to dato from Economic Census 2014, Credit Intermediation and Related Activities had a total of 40,482 economic units and the municipalities with the highest number of economic units were Guadalajara (1.04k), Mérida (969), and Monterrey (897)

Total income eached $2.98T MX and the municipalities with the highest income were Álvaro Obregón ($744B MX), Benito Juárez ($606B MX), and Cuauhtémoc ($514B MX).

Total expenditures were $2.19T MX and the municipalities with the highest expenditures were Álvaro Obregón ($561B MX), Benito Juárez ($483B MX), and Cuauhtémoc ($370B MX).

On the other hand, in 2014 there were 666657 employees dependent on economic units and the municipalities with the highest number of employees were Cuauhtémoc (176k), Miguel Hidalgo (102k), and Álvaro Obregón (92.5k).

According to the level of instruction, the distribution of trained staff was 73.4% of staff without intruction, 33.4% of staff with basic education, 39.8% of staff with upper secondary education, and 69.4% of staff with higher education.

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the distribution of economic units according to size that had access to financing was 12.5% units with up to 10 people, 21.5% units with 11 to 50 people, 36% units with 51 to 250 people, and 47.2% units with 251 and more people.

According to the age of the economic units, the distribution of those that obtained financing was 13.9% of the recently created (up to 2 years) units, 18% of the youth (3 to 5 years) units, 11.8% of the adults (6 to 10 years) units, and 15.3% of the seniors (over 10 years) units.

The states with the highest percentage of economic units that received financing were Ciudad de México (19.7%), Chiapas (19.2%), San Luis Potosí (18.3%), Morelos (17.6%), and Estado de México (17.4%).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the main problems faced by the economic units of Credit Intermediation and Related Activities with up to 10 workers are public insecurity (31.3%), another problems (16.2%), high taxes (13.6%), and excess government procedures to operate (9.48%).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, 4.47% of the large economic units of the private and parastatal sector of Credit Intermediation and Related Activities had innovation activities in 2018.

Of the total staff employed in large economic units, 8.34% was employed in product innovation activities, 0.54% in process innovation, 0.19% in market innovation, 3.95% in organizational innovation, and 0.93% in innovation for technological adaptation and documentation.

Qualified staff in Innovation Activities

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the lowercase Credit Intermediation and Related Activities Subsector had 894 economic units that had qualified staff in technological research and development activities, 47 economic units had it for research and technological development in the field of Biotechnology and 14 economic units for research and technological development in Nanotechnology.

In the same year, 47 economic units had qualified personnel in the registration or processing of patents for brands, products or processes, and 24 economic units had this type of staff to contracts or acquisition of patents for brands, products or processes.
