The main sale from Mexico to Panama in 2023 was Constructions and Parts Thereof (Bridges and Parts Thereof, Towers, Doors and Windows and their Frames) of Iron or Steel, Excluding Prefabricated Buildings (US$163M). The main origins of sales to Panama were Nuevo León (US$314M), Ciudad de México (US$287M), and Estado de México (US$224M).

The main product bought by Mexico from Panama in 2023 was Palm Oil and its Fractions, whether or not Refined, but not Chemically Modified (US$21.5M). The main destinations of purchases made to Panama were Ciudad de México (US$24.3M), Jalisco (US$15.7M), and Querétaro (US$3.39M).

In the period January to June 2024, the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Panama to Mexico is US$21M. In the same period, the states that received the highest FDI from Panama were Estado de México (Confidential) and Ciudad de México (Confidential).

Regarding remittances, in the second quarter of 2024, Mexico received US$2.23M in remittances from Panama, while Panama received US$1.58M in remittances from Mexico.

Finally, in terms of immigration to Mexico, 1,795 inmigrants from Panama were registered in 2020, 44.8% women and 55.2% men. The states with the highest concentration of inmigrants from Panama were Yucatán (722 people), Nuevo León (260 people), and Estado de México (211 people).
