The main product bought by Mexico from Costa Rica in 2023 was Electronic Integrated Circuits (US$905M). The main destinations of purchases made to Costa Rica were Chihuahua (US$776M), Nuevo León (US$216M), and Ciudad de México (US$133M).

In the period January to June 2024, the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Costa Rica to Mexico is US$4.12M. In the same period, the states that received the highest FDI from Costa Rica were Quintana Roo (Confidential).

Regarding remittances, in the second quarter of 2024, Mexico received US$1.34M in remittances from Costa Rica, while Costa Rica received US$1.06M in remittances from Mexico.

Finally, in terms of immigration to Mexico, 2,298 inmigrants from Costa Rica were registered in 2020, 51% women and 49% men. The states with the highest concentration of inmigrants from Costa Rica were Ciudad de México (676 people), Estado de México (508 people), and Sinaloa (266 people).
